Hedera helix Baltic ivy also known as Thorndale ivy - is an aggressive, fast-growing, evergreen, woody, perennial self-clinging or trailing vine. Thorndale ivy has green foliage with white or silver veining.
Baltic Ivy provides rich texture and beautiful evergreen foliage to a wide range of lanscapes. It tolerates drought and is an ideal groundcover for both sunny and shaded sites, for erosion control on slopes, or as a climbing vine.
Baltic Ivy can be pruned at any time to keep it looking its best.
Hedera helix Baltic can grow in full sun or full shade. The leaves of this variety turn a handsome bronzish red in winter. A highly ornamental vine great for use as a groundcover or as a spiller plant in container gardens.
Ivy plants can be invasive so make sure to control their spread when growing near woodland areas. Also parts of Baltic ivy are known to be toxic to humans and animals, so care should be exercised in planting it around children and pets. Harmful if eaten, skin irritant.
