Bright Edge Yucca is very similar to Color Guard yucca, but has a reverse coloring of leaves - yellow at the edges and green in the center, as can be seen from its name.
Sword-like leaves, boldly edged in bright gold topped by tall spikes of fragrant, ivory white blooms. Smaller than the species, perfect for adding contrast and texture as a garden accent or container plant. In age Bright Edge yucca has forms dramatic clumps and has white flowers in early summer.
The plant has a sharp leaf points, so place it where contact can be avoided.
Bright Edge yucca is drought and heat tolerant, requires minimal care except to prune spent flower stalks for a neat appearance. Clump forming, to 3 ft (90 sm) tall, 4 ft (120 sm) wide. Fragrant white flower spikes reach 5 ft. tall and attracts butterflies, hummingbirds and benefits birds.
Easily grown in lean to average, well-drained highly adaptable soil. Water regularly during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Requires low water and will drought tolerant when established. Needs little care except to prune spent flower stalks for a neat appearance.
